What is a 'local connection to North Somerset'?
A location connection is categorised by North Somerset Council as one of the following:
- Have lived in North Somerset for the two consecutive tears preceding the date the applications made, or;
- Have previously lived in North Somerset for ten consecutive years or more than five years prior to the date the application is made; or
- Have retained continuous employment in North Somerset, of a minimum of 16 hours per week, for at least the 12 months preceding the date the application is made; or
- Family connection - applicant's immediate family member (parents, siblings, non-dependent children) has lived in North Somerset for the last two consecutive years and the applicant has a need to live near this person to give or receive care or support.
